About the Product
What is oxaloacetate?
Oxaloacetate is a metabolic compound needed by nearly every human cell to produce energy in the mitochondria via Krebs cycle. Proper levels of oxaloacetate are crucial for healthy metabolism, glucose system support, and overall cellular function.

Why does Oxaloacetate CFS cost $499?
We understand that many people with ME/CFS are already carrying enormous physical, emotional, and financial burdens. Cost matters deeply, and we want you to know that lowering the price of Oxaloacetate CFS is one of our highest priorities.
Oxaloacetate is unusually difficult to manufacture and stabilize at therapeutic medical food doses. Producing pharmaceutical-grade oxaloacetate requires a highly specialized process involving:
- More than ten international patents covering production and stabilization methods
- Multiple manufacturing stages at sub-zero temperatures
- Specialized handling to preserve stability and effectiveness
- Extensive quality control and testing
Unlike many common supplements, oxaloacetate is naturally unstable and breaks down easily if not carefully processed and protected throughout production.
Nonetheless, we are doing everything we can to reduce costs over time. As awareness grows and production volume increases, we expect manufacturing efficiencies to improve substantially. Our goal is to make Oxaloacetate CFS as accessible and affordable as possible for the ME/CFS community.
We know many people with ME/CFS face intense financial hardship, and we take that seriously.
That said, when comparing cost per milligram, Oxaloacetate CFS is still less expensive than smaller-dose oxaloacetate products from Terra Biological, such as benaGene.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
We are actively working to make Oxaloacetate CFS reliably eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement.
Some customers may already be able to obtain reimbursement depending on their plan and documentation requirements, but coverage is not yet consistent across providers. Expanding reliable HSA/FSA access is a major focus for us right now.
Many members of our team work closely with people living with ME/CFS every day, and we recognize that every purchase decision can involve real sacrifice. We never want anyone to feel dismissed or unheard when raising concerns about affordability.
Our commitment is to continue improving access, lowering costs where possible, and supporting the ME/CFS community with transparency and respect.
What is the difference between Oxaloacetate CFS and benaGene?
While benaGene is a dietary supplement, Oxaloacetate CFS is a medical food, a classification distinct from dietary supplements. Additionally, benaGene contains 150 mg of Vitamin C per capsule, whereas Oxaloacetate CFS contains no Vitamin C.
Although both benaGene and Oxaloacetate CFS contain thermally stabilized oxaloacetate, they fall under different regulatory classifications with important differences.
Dietary supplements provide supplementary nutritional support for healthy people and are intended to affect the normal structure or function of the human body.
Medical foods, like Oxaloacetate CFS, provide support for the nutritional management of a specific disease or condition that has distinct and established nutritional requirements. Importantly, they are always to be used only under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider. While no prescription is needed for Oxaloacetate CFS, your doctor should help you set your individual dosing levels.
Medical foods support those who have trouble digesting and absorbing food and certain nutrients and cannot nutritionally manage their condition through diet modification alone. While oxaloacetate is naturally available in our diet, it is not found in sufficient amounts to help most ME/CFS patients.
How much oxaloacetate is in Oxaloacetate CFS?
Each capsule of Oxaloacetate CFS contains 500 mg of Anhydrous Enol-Oxaloacetate (AEO)—our highest-dose formula, developed specifically for individuals with ME/CFS and Long COVID.
Is Oxaloacetate CFS's oxaloacetate different from oxalate?
The active ingredient in Oxaloacetate CFS is thermally stabilized oxaloacetate—“Anhydrous enol-Oxaloacetate”. While oxaloacetate in the English language sounds very similar to “oxalate,” the two compounds are chemically quite different. Oxaloacetate is a 4-carbon molecule, whereas oxalate is a 2-carbon molecule. Oxaloacetate CFS contains zero oxalates. In human beings, there is no known pathway for the conversion of oxaloacetate to oxalate.
Where is the full Oxaloacetate CFS Product label?
You can find the product label here.
What can Oxaloacetate CFS do for my energy levels?
Mitochondria are the engines of your cells and use a process called the Krebs Cycle to turn food and oxygen into the energy we need to live. Oxaloacetate is a crucial metabolic compound essential to the Krebs cycle and energy production.
Using Oxaloacetate CFS to fuel your cells with ample oxaloacetate helps them create more energy, supporting your brain and body with the power to do more of what you love.
Has Oxaloacetate CFS been clinically tested in ME/CFS Patients?
Yes. Oxaloacetate CFS has been in two controlled clinical trials for the treatment of fatigue in ME/CFS patients. More information here at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9238249/
Can people under 18 years old use Oxaloacetate CFS?
Oxaloacetate CFS has not been tested in people under 18 years old. Please consult your licensed healthcare provider before taking Oxaloacetate CFS or any supplement if you are under 18.
Does Oxaloacetate CFS have side effects?
Many Oxaloacetate CFS users report increases in energy levels and reduction in brain fog, without the jitters that accompany energy products.
A minority of Oxaloacetate CFS users, especially those with sensitive stomachs, sometimes report heartburn directly after taking Oxaloacetate CFS. This is often remedied by taking Oxaloacetate CFS alongside a meal. Additionally, it is best to take oxaloacetate with breakfast and lunch to tune up your energy.
Taking the product late at night can give you so much energy that getting to sleep may be an issue.
How is Oxaloacetate CFS manufactured and quality controlled?
Oxaloacetate CFS is manufactured in state-of-the-art GMP facilities under strict quality control and environmental protection standards. Before product introduction, safety studies, including GLP toxicity tests, are run on our key product ingredients.
